Michael has played as a solo singer/guitarist and with bands (The Michael Abbott Band and The New Sheriffs) in Maine, Vermont, Tennessee and New York. Currently, Michael is working with producer Gary Carter (www.gcmusic1.com) and sound engineer Buford Jones (www.meyersound.com) to record song demos in Tennessee. Several of Michael's songs are being pitched to country music artists by Chris Keaton Productions (www.chriskeaton.com) in Nashville. Michael's songwriting is best described as modern country with a good dose of folk and rock mixed in. Mike grew up listening to traditional country music but his tastes include many musical genres and this is reflected in his writing. |
