MSA Showcase and Open Mic

As many of you know, the Maine Songwriter's Association hosts a regular showcase and open mic at the North Star Cafe on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of every month. The venue is intimate and the audience is mostly there to listen and/or participate. The format begins at 7pm ( sign up at 6:45) with 15 minute open mic slots followed by 4 scheduled showcase acts that run for 35 minutes. The schedule for the showcase spots can be viewed on the Schedule tab of this website.

In addition to the North Star, the MSA also hosts a monthly showcase at the 302 West Smokehouse and Tavern in Fryeburg, Maine. This showcase is held the 2nd Thursday of every month and features an hour showcase slot from 8-9 pm followed by open mic slots until 11:30pm. The feature performer receives a recording of his/her performance on a cd.

A third open mic takes place from 6 to 9:30pm at the Cornish Inn.

Email booking@mainesongwriters.com to participate in any of these MSA events. Showcase slots require a full (paid) membership. Sound is provided at each event.
